Why we chose these three plumbing lines: Most plumbers we work with prefer to install something from either Kohler, Moen, or Delta. They are easy to find, often in-stock, more affordable, and they have coordinating shower/bath fixtures that work well. Because of this, it’s common to select one of these brands for our homes.

A quick note on finishes: With more affordable faucets there is typically a compromise on the finishes. I personally don’t like a brushed nickel or a black finish (unless in a contemporary home). I normally prefer metal finishes that look like the raw material because they are more timeless (unlacquered, aged brass, polished nickel, and in some cases chrome). These finishes (with the exception of chrome) tend to be a higher price point, however this is something I think is definitely worth the extra spend since it will last longer both in style and quality.

Kohler has the best brass finish of the three brands—their Vibrant French Gold. Delta finishes are leaving me wanting more, so I tend to go with their chrome when polished nickel isn’t an option. Delta’s Champaign Bronze feels more contemporary when I want my brass faucets to typically feel more historic. I feel the same way about Moen finishes, their brushed brass also feels a bit contemporary but they have a nice polished nickel finish.

For both value and style, my overall pick is Kohler.
