Marianne's Recommends Pt. 3
a few of my favorite books to read, clothes to wear, and items for my home
Marianne here - most of you know me but here are a few things you may not know…I don’t bake (two cakes in my whole life and never made cookies from scratch) and I have trypophobia.
This is my favorite jacket - I take it on every trip as my light layer option and it’s soft and goes with everything. I sized down (XS) because I wanted a more edited/cropped look but would also be really cute as an oversized jean jacket look.
I recently discovered Mary Oliver and became a big fan (my last newsletter was inspired by her) and this book has brought a lot of joy. I don’t typically read poetry but I have found it’s a great way to begin my day to just open it up and read whichever page I turn to.
#3 Marble Utensil Holder & Jar
We love this marble utensil holder and my mother-in-law actually planted my little olive tree from Trader Joe’s in it and it’s been perfect. I think because marble is naturally porous it’s been okay for the plant even without a drain...
#4 Visual Comfort Classic Swing Arm Sconce
I love the white finish - it’s classic and the perfect light for places you don’t want a metal finish and it swings out or can be tight to the wall. We’ve installed it in a few projects and it never disappoints.
I am not a great cook and get overwhelmed easily by recipes so I recently bought this no-recipe cookbook and it’s really helped me branch out and try some new meals. The “throw it together” approach is more my style and puts me at ease. Highly recommend.

#7 Quince Mongolian Cropped Sweater
I know sweater weather is almost over but the deep v is really cute for Spring weather and the sleeves roll up easily (I am wearing a M).
I got this pan last Christmas but I’ve loved it so much. It’s easy to clean and use so my kids love it and therefore we use it multiple times a day so I’m going to buy another one.
#9 Modern Manners For Kids by Brooke Romney
I have every “Modern Manners” book Brooke Romney has written and I am such a big fan. Her thoughtful manners open up conversation in our home about how to be more kind and aware of ourselves and those around us. Can’t recommend enough.
Hi Marianne, I received the Always Pan in light blue as a Christmas gift. I love the non-stick aspect but have noticed that the color has somewhat tarnished near the flame area. I’ve tried bon Amie and the pink stuff to remove the discoloration. Was wondering if you’ve had a similar experience and whether you found anything to remove the staining. As always, thanks.
