A Peek Inside This Florist's Charming Home
Philosophy of Home Featuring Ashley Beyer of Tinge Floral
We are so inspired by the way people live and the philosophies that guide them in making their design choices. We wanted to have a space on our journal where we talk about what it means to create a home and to live intentionally.
For any new comers, our Philosophy of Home Community posts feature people who we think beautifully reflect themselves in the subtleties of their home. Our hope with these posts is to inspire, not compare and to give others the confidence to discover their own Philosophy of Home.
This month, we chose to feature Ashley Beyer, Salt Lake City local and owner of @tingefloral. In her business, Ashley embraces a unique point of view by letting color lead her design process as opposed to style or trend. She strives to create arrangements that are sophisticated, beautiful, and all one-of-a-kind.
Because of her creativity and approach to floral design, we thought it would be fun to see how she applies these same principles to the design of her home. Keep scrolling to see her beautiful space—all photos are by @heathernan.
#1 What are three feelings you want your home to evoke?
I would love for guests to feel immediately comfortable, interested, and warm.
#2 What is something about your home that other people might not think twice about but you don’t necessarily love?
Our house is just under 1800 square feet, so it's quite small and our dining space could hardly be classified as such. We have a small dining nook with a metal topped ancient white painted table I got from a garage sale for $5. Our little family of four is at max capacity, but it works for now. I kind of love that it has markings and paint stains that tell the stories of the many crafts and projects we've created there. It's not too precious and yet it's precious to me.
#3 Tell us about a meaningful piece in your home
I was gifted my great grandfathers watercolor set and box after he passed away a number of years ago. Inside I found 6 beautiful paint swatch cards he made, all labeled with his handwriting. I have them framed and hanging above my daughters dresser.
#4 Your easiest house decision… the kitchen remodel
#5 Item in your home you've had the longest… the armoir in our living room that my husband restored the first year we were married
#6 Current home scent… Pura Apotheke Grapefruit Sea Salt and a candle from Sea Ranch Lodge. I can’t live without a great woodsy candle.
#7 Favorite color to decorate with… ochre, always need a touch of rich golden yellow somewhere
#8 Feeling currently inspired by… Lucy Williams home always
Thank you Ashley for inspiring us all and for allowing a glimpse into your charming home.
