A Charming Addition to Our Oak Hill Drive Project
full tour and sources of this Nancy Meyers inspired sunroom
A few years back we had the privilege to work with the best clients to furnish and update their home that was already beautifully designed by J. Scott Anderson (you can see that project here). We were so excited when they contacted us about working on an addition to their home and had so much fun working with the team at Timberline Construction to create the most beautiful sunroom.

The star of the show when it comes to this sunroom is probably these painted floors. This was our first time ever doing a painted floor in a project and we learned a few things along the way. Because the pattern has to fit perfectly in the space, we had to draw up the pattern to-scale in CAD which required a lot of adjusting but was worth all of the effort. *Note: you can’t use just any paint for this application or it will peel and chip constantly. The tradesperson who painted the floors used a very specific floor paint and sealed it for extra durability. However, as it is paint, it will inevitability chip over time, which is something neither us or our client partially minded.
We wanted this space to blend seamlessly with rest of the house, which can be tricky to do with an addition. It’s located directly behind the living room, so we added French doors on either side of the room so that the space can be completely closed off or left open depending on the needs of our clients.
We were very intentional with the furniture selections in this room to make it as functional as possible. We included both a chaise, sofa, and wicker chairs to accommodate different scenarios (using it as a reading room, spending time with family/friends, a morning coffee, a place to play games, etc.)
The oil painting on the wall was a lucky find because it went perfectly with our vision for the space and worked so well with the cottage red light fixture.
